Our goal is to guide you through an exploration of the various subgenres of Progressive music, documenting and preserving the narratives of its pioneers. In doing so, we aim to celebrate the enduring legacy of these musical innovators, which continues to motivate and shape new generations of musicians globally.

  • Co-Founder
    Zeitgeist Media’s co-founder Adele Schmidt is a film & video director, producer and editor who has won numerous awards in both documentary and fiction films, including the Emmy Award, the TIVA-DC’s Peer Award, the U.S. International Film and Video Festival Award, the Telly Awards and the Gabriel Award. Her expertise derives from a 20 year experience as a director, producer and editor of feature films, documentaries and corporate videos. Adele is also a Professorial Lecturer for Film & Video Production at American University in Washington, DC.

    When not involved in producing, directing & editing this documentary series, Adele leads and manages Zeitgeist Media, a firm dedicated to provide high-quality video productions for the contracting government, and the corporate, creative and the non-profit world.

  • Co-Producer & Co-Director
    José is an avid collector and fan of progressive rock. He is passionate about researching the history and legacy of progressive rock, jazz-rock, experimental rock, avant-progressive, and electronic rock bands. His research is the basis for planning, scripting and producing the series, including the Krautrock Trilogy. While co-producing, co-directing and scriptwriting our films, Jose also coordinates the legal, sales, marketing, online media, distribution and outreach activities. He is the co-owner and COO of Zeitgeist Media LLC. He brings over 20 years of Corporate Business Consulting and Project Management expertise to Zeitgeist LLC.

K-2: Romantic Warriors IV - Krautrock Part 2

Screened at the 60th Gijón International Film Festival on September 28, 2022, this film is part of an ongoing collaboration with the Gijón International Film Festival and the Musicians' Workshop of the Municipal Culture Foundation of the Gijón City Council, offering annual screenings as a festival extension.

It was also part of ProgDay 2022's festival program.

The five films of the series became accessible for streaming on the Projektor.com movie streaming platform.

Premiered in 2020 in over 30 German cinemas across the nation, including Berlin's Kant Kino, Hamburg's Abaton, and Munich's City Kino.

The film was also showcased at the SAJETA Art & Music Festival in Slovenia.

The film was screened as part of the 58th Gijón International Film Festival in Spain.

K-1: Romantic Warriors IV - Krautrock Part 1

Premiered at the RIO Festival in Carmaux, France in September 2015.

The film was also shown at the ProgDay festival in Durham, NC, USA, on September 5, 2015.

The film was screened at The Cruise To The Edge 2015 on November 18, 2015.

The documentary examines the impact of the Canterbury Scene on British progressive rock and jazz rock, with critical acclaim for its insightful exploration of this influential musical movement.

The initial three films of the series became accessible for streaming on the Reelhouse.org movie streaming platform.

In September 2012, the film was featured in the Rock In Opposition (RIO) Festival program in Carmaux, France.

On March 4, 2013, Eduardo Salueña, Director of the Musicians Workshop of the City Hall of Gijón/Xixón, Asturias, Spain, discussed the documentary at the Rock in Opposition conference in Oviedo, Spain, highlighting its significance to the genre.

Premiered at the Orion Studios in Baltimore, MD, on June 11, 2010.

In 2011, it was broadcasted on 40 TV stations across the U.S., including prominent ones like WLIW in New York, KCET in Los Angeles, and KCTS in Seattle through the National Public Television Broadcast by NETA.

The same year, it was honored with the TIVA-DC Peer Bronze Award for documentaries longer than 30 minutes, a recognition for outstanding work in the Mid-Atlantic region.

The film was officially presented on September 10, 2010, at the Mexican Cultural Institute in Washington, DC, before an audience that included long-time followers of the genre as well as people who were not previously familiar with the music, but showed keen interest during the Q&A session that followed the showing. The event also featured live performances by two of the artists that appear in the documentary: Dan Britton of Maryland-based band Deluge Grander and Mauricio Sotelo of Mexican trio Cabezas de Cera.
